The OPGW Premored/Helical Tension Clamp is primarily used to install cables with RTS less than 160 kN to tension towers/poles, corner towers/poles and terminal towers/poles. A complete set of OPGW prefabricated/spiral tensioners includes aluminum alloy or aluminum clad steel dead ends, structural reinforcement rods, support fittings and grounding clamps, etc.
An OPGW (Optical Ground Wire) wire tension clamp is a specialized device used in the installation and maintenance of OPGW cables. OPGW cables are composite overhead cables that combine optical fibers for communication purposes with a metallic ground wire for power transmission and grounding.
The OPGW wire tension clamp serves the purpose of securely attaching the OPGW cable to the supporting structure, such as poles or towers, while maintaining the necessary tension. It plays a crucial role in ensuring the stability and reliable performance of the OPGW system.
Cable Gripping: The wire tension clamp is designed to securely grip the OPGW cable to prevent it from slipping or becoming loose. It typically consists of specially designed jaws or grips that firmly hold the cable in place.
Tension Adjustment: The wire tension clamp allows for adjustment of the tension applied to the OPGW cable. This feature is important to maintain the desired tension level in the cable, which is essential for its proper functioning and mechanical stability.
Mechanical Strength: OPGW twire tension clamps are constructed using robust and durable materials, such as stainless steel or aluminum alloy, to provide high mechanical strength. This ensures that the clamp can withstand the tension forces exerted on the cable and withstand environmental conditions, such as wind and ice loading.
Electrical Continuity: The wire tension clamp also maintains the electrical continuity of the metallic ground wire within the OPGW cable. It provides a reliable connection between the cable and the supporting structure, ensuring effective grounding and electrical performance.
Corrosion Resistance: OPGW wire tension clamps are often designed with corrosion-resistant coatings or materials to withstand exposure to harsh outdoor environments, including moisture, UV radiation, and temperature variations.
OPGW wire tension clamps are designed to connect OPGW cables and tension rods (or towers). Armor rods protect and cushion OPGW cables. The special design of the armored rod ensures that the tension clamp will not cause excessive stress to the OPGW optical cable, thereby ensuring the normal life of the optical cable system.
Shackle---------Hot dip galvanized steel. The shackle is connected to the fastening clip on the tie rod (or tower).
Parallel plate ------ hot-dip galvanized steel sheet. The parallel plate connects the thimble and the U-shackle.
Thimble------------ hot-dip galvanized cast steel. Insert the thimble into the bend of the prefabricated dead end to protect and connect.
Armor rods-------Armor rods are made of aluminum clad steel wire. There is a layer of granular emery inside, and the armor rods increase the friction of the cable. The rods are made into four subsets that reduce misalignment errors and speed up installation. The ends are bent outwards to avoid stress on the OPGW cable.
Prefabricated dead end---aluminum clad steel wire. The prefab dead space is made into a subset with a solid layer of emery to increase the grip of the tension clamp while reducing side pressure.
a. uniform stress distribution, no stress concentration points, well protect fiber optic cable.
b. under the premise of not more than the lateral compressive strength of fiber optic cable the fiber, the clamp have greater holding power, able to withstand greater tension.
c. The holding force not less than fiber optic cable rated tensile strength (RTS) 95%, not damage OPGW cable at the same time.
d. high-quality aluminum-clad steel material, improve the mechanical properties of the clamp and corrosion resistance.
meet the DL / T 766-2003 optical fiber composite overhead ground wire (OPGW) with the preformed helical fittings technical requirements and test methods.
a. According to OPGW cable rated tensile strength and diameter to select the appropriate Clamp.
b. the number of configurations: one set / Terminal Tower (including gantry); 2 sets / Tension tower.
c. The lay direction of inner twisted wire is opposite with lay direction of the outer twist wire, the standard configuration: Lay direction for OPGW outer twisted wire is right, If left, it should be specified in the order contract.
d. The clamp afford a full tension, it was proposed to use one-time.
e. provide the model type for the first tower connected with the fittings.
f. Clamp strength is divided into 70kN, 100kN, 120kN and so on.
