For overhead fibre optic applications in electrically hazardous environments it is recommended to use ADSS (All Dielectric Self Supporting) cables. ADSS fibre optic cables contain aramid reinforcements and do not need to be tied to the messenger. There are two types of hardware available to attach ADSS fibre optic cable to the pole; dead-end and bracket.

ADSS dead-end support

For use with upright poles, or mid-span poles that bend 15 degrees or more in the direction of the cable span using two dead ends. Each dead-end includes Ram hook hardware.

ADSS Midspan Support Bracket

Brackets are used to support ADSS fibre optic cables on mid span poles. The brackets are simply bolted to the pole for installation.

ADSS Storage Bracket

The ADSS storage bracket eliminates the need for a slack repository and allows ADSS slack to be stored in the air. The brackets also act as protection for the minimum bend radius of the fibre optic cable.
